I have some slightly strict parents who really only get mad about drinking, smoking, grades, and drugs. For the most part I have been okay with the rules but i have skipped a lot of parties because of it... I'm getting pretty annoyed because I'm always hearing how great these parties are and how I should've been there and the "we missed you Stu!" Texts... It's a hard dilemma whether to disobey them and just go and have fun or to obey them.
Anyone have or have had similar predicaments as me? Advice to ponder on would be great.

I was always with a group of kids that didn't drink all too much, and if we did we never threw ragers or house parties. I would say obey your parents, and realize that not only are they paying for your high school through taxes, they're going to be shelling out tens of thousands of dollars for your college, too. The LEAST you can do is show them some respect and some respect for their rules. Wait till college to throw down or convince your parents to let you go out to these parties.

Thanks man, I've already gotten in trouble for drinking and what not but I think I might turn it down for a little bit. One thing I've been trying recently is going to parties but not drinking or doing anything stupid at them. I feel like I can find a good balance

Go with a friend who your parents trust.
I go through the same issue

You don't have to drink, smoke and do drugs at parties. If your parents are strict about it, tell them you are going to the party but won't be participating in the activities. Possibly offer to be a designated driver to your friends.
But, you're a teenager and we make mistakes. Prove to your parents that they can trust you and you can be responsible.
