Well the title says it all. You do 200 push-ups a day for 20 days straight. No excuses you just do them. Even if you are a bulky weight lifter, or you are mixed martial artist, or even someone who has never worked out in their life these will benefit you. Benefits: - you will become stronger, both in endurance and short burst strength - starting something and following through with it. It will help is stay committed to something
Rules an guidelines: - you can do the push-ups anyway you want. Start with normal for as long as you can, then when you get tired, do them with your knees on the ground. - don't cheat - if normal push-ups become easy, switch to diamond or wide push-ups.
..... Why not

Awesome strategy. I actually did something like this with my brother, except we did 400 every other day whenever we worked out our pectorals. We would race to see who can reach the goal first. But anyway it did wonders to my upper body in a months time.

200 a day in like a time span of 10 minutes. I would suggest doing them in sets of 25 and resting for 30 seconds after

Follow up: On day four and this fucking blows. I changed from doing 25 to 30 and my chest, shoulders, and triceps feel like jelly after this. Note* I'm not a lifter, I don't train hard core, I do play sports.

You gotta rest man, doing it for 20 straight days isn't going to benefit you.
The way it works with breaking down your muscles is that you create a "negative work hole" which is like you are doing the damage and your body needs time to recover and pull yourself out of it. But if you keep crushing the same muscles day in and day out you'll just dig that hole deeper and deeper and your body wont have time to bounce back from it. You might be feeling sore but you won't actually see any more significant benefit from it. If anything you'll actually limit the gains you are making. I'd recommend taking a day off in between or wait until the soreness is gone before going back at it again.
The key to remember is that doing more work is not necessarily going to benefit you. You gotta be smart about it, especially if you have no experience with resistance training(lifting actual weights).

^ that's basically how it is. The truth is pushups will never make your chest blow up. Try messing around with different techniques and using parallettes along with weights.
if you dont have that stuff laying around, fill your backpack up and elevate yourself by doing pushups with each hand and your feet up on chairs.
Also, dips are significant enough to add gains to your chest (upper pectorals specifically) without adding weights.
Just make sure that you keep your elbows tucked and close to your body, squeeze your glutes, keep your head straight, and go slow when you're doing these exercises
-also breathe on each rep to prevent early fatigue

Yah honestly I was just about to stop doing this. The sole reason I was doing this was to prove to myself I could. I've had problems being consistent. I have a routine of chest/arms, legs, shoulders/back, powerlift schedule I used to rotate through on a 4 time a week rotation. I guess I can just go back to that... Thanks for the comments though.

yeah man, no need to stress on this. you could just do something simple like going to bed earlier than usual and/or waking up as soon as your alarm goes off
