NLP And Expression in text - Gref Okay so if you know NLP then you know that when communicating with someone 7% is what words you use, 38% is the tonality, then 55% is your body language. So when you're emailing, texting, etc. you're only portraying 7% of your total game!? That blows right. Well here's my own ideas and field tested theories to help it.
When you ask them a question such as: "Do you wanna hang out?" instead of the ? mark, replace it with a period. so it'll be: "Do you wanna hang out." Their conscious mind will think "oh it was a typo"(if they even notice it consciously at all) while they're subconscious is processing it as a command. They'll be more apt to say yes. And if you're feeling ballsy then go ahead and CAPS in embedded commands. "Do you WANT... TO HANG OUT." and that will just amp up the pressure to say yes. Now is it possible to portray your tone and body language in text? No way, right? WRONG. If you say anything C&F or teasing put in =P it's a tongue sticking out it shows that you're being playful. And you can display other moods and such with other smile faces. Smiles: Smiley Cheesy =D =) This is for devious or naughty >=) This is a wink Wink or Grin a heart <3

I do something like this too. do you want to hang out.
"oh he just meant a space" for reverse justification while subconsciously she takes it all in as gref stated

yeah if you use too many question marks while texting, it can come across as approval seeking. Ive just eliminated them all together.

It takes me about 1/2 an hour to get to a ? anyway so I already eliminated them.

Also, stop putting SOO much smilies in texts. All my dude friends who text put 2-3 =] faces in each text. Such a big sign of try-hard and approval-seeking.

Obviously only do it when neccesary, it's the same reason why we don't smile all the time in conversation.

another thing to watch out for is to keep your personality showing through your texts and IMs
if you type like youd speak in a monotone your not really showing personality. I dont know how better to explain that.
avoid tlking lyke ths
