Alright, so here's something fresh.
Ignore all responses to this post until the replies reach the date of 11/3/09.
This still contains some information from the old version.
I will be discussing 3 main points on Online Gaming:
- The Bullshit
- Maintaining A Relationship
- Escalation
Okay, so there's a huge concept we MUST go through for online gaming, and it will also apply to text game.
When someone sees a very hot person, one may begin to fantasize by giving that person an utopian personality and everything that comes with.
Example: School starts up after summer and there's a girl in your class who is absolutely gorgeous but you've never seen her before.
You start to say "She looks very innocent" or "She looks very naughty" or whatever. Either way, you are making judgments about her without even getting to know her.
This is the same when you see the picture of a girl on myspace or facebook!
You know nothing about her except for her Profile picture and name.
Girls do the same with guys.
Don't judge without the proof.
You can easily feel "attracted" to a girl. But is it really HER and WHO SHE IS that you like or what you WANT her to be like that you're soo in love with?
Also also also, there's something called LYING these days. It's soooo easy for anyone, including you and me and girls, to put on a fake mask when talking with people via text or online messaging.
She can easily come off as very stuck up and bitchy by simply typing "Uh, okay." when all in all she's a normal girl who just wants to get rid of you.
She can easily come off as the innocent, shy type by validating you while hating herself with things like "You're too hot for a girl like me." when all in all she's a bitch who just wants some attention.
The point is, PEOPLE CAN AND WILL FAKE WHO THEY ARE ONLINE.
Don't trust them. Some people even go so far as to put up FAKE PICTURES.
Ask our friend Gay. He decided to make 'cyber sex' with a girl who used a fake picture of someone gorgeous who later admitted guilt and showed him her true picture, being an ugly ugly girl.
Even guys resort to the internet to fake themselves. Acting really energetic with smiley faces and exclamation points and capitalizing lots of words when they're actually very shy in person.
soo.... dont trust the internet. simply use it to maintain relationships already established in person. that way, neither of you guys can lie to each other.
============================
And now we get to escalation. If you do happen to meet a girl on the internet and you truly believe you have a chance with her.
Don't limit your options and keep on seeking to escalate.
Go from something like facebook to AIM/MSN to TEXTING to CALLING to MEETING IN PERSON.
You need to realize that it wont matter how much you guys like each other if you never meet up.
Enjoy guys.
