I've been exercising for 2 - 3 years now because I wanted to do sports (Soccer, Basketball, Rugby etc). But I believe that my body has reached its peak in doing Calisthenics(pushups, situps etc) exercises. I seriously cannot gain anymore mass. I have no idea on what to do for gaining mass. Heck I just blindly follow what exercises my soccer coach tells us to do. I have no basis for any real exercise training at home. Like minutes spent, what to do first/next etc So yeah, most of the time I almost have NO idea what JohnnyBravo is saying sometimes or anyone here that knows exercise jargon and shite. Can anyone help me on what I can do to get bulkier but not too bulky? Like toned?BTW: - I have no money to pay for the gym cuz I have no job, parents wont let me. - I want to buy protein powder but have no idea on how to use it exactly. - I exercise every 3 days. - I just exercise at home basically without weights. i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii3/factorblue/DSCN7070.jpgi260.photobucket.com/albums/ii3/factorblue/DSCN7077.jpgi260.photobucket.com/albums/ii3/factorblue/DSCN7082.jpgi260.photobucket.com/albums/ii3/factorblue/DSCN7079.jpg

Yeah, the guys at my school usually just join sports teams for the workout program provided. They just sit the bench, but they get to work out.
My school also has a weight training class for credits. See if your school maybe has one, too. That's about all I know, it's what the majority of kids do in my school.

You need weights to get bulky. Get a gym membership. Save up dude. Ask your parents. If one of them is fat, be like "Aye yo, I don't want to turn out like your fat ass, get me a membership"
Then just get a plan, ask the guys at the gym, hit one body part a day.
Bulk is a matter of 3 sets, 10 reps, 8 reps, 6 reps.

Bulk is a matter of 3 sets, 10 reps, 8 reps, 6 reps. Can you elaborate Johnny? Sorry I'm not really used to the jargon lol. Does your school have a weight room? We do but it's not really a "full on" weights room. It's open every Tuesdays and Thursdays. My PE teacher is the coordinator but we do calisthenics more than weights.

Read the 4 hour Body by Tim Ferris. It changed my life.
I gained 15 lbs of lean muscle and lost 2.2% body fat in 40 days. It's amazing. And simple.

Nice abs but you need to bulk everywhere else. Johnny has it right, you need weights to bulk more. Just tell your parents your trying to be healthy and not like every other fat kid in the states. But google a workout plan for beginners if you start hitting the gym. Protein powder is simple to use: a scoop a day mixed with milk or water. But it's not necessary.

You need weights to get bulky. False. Read up on "Convict Conditioning". It will open your eyes . Body weight exercises can be just as good as weights, with less actual harm done to your body. The only problem with not using weights is that you won't get to be the mass of Arnold Schwarzenegger in his golden years, but hey, you wouldn't get quality girls like that anyway. Body weight exercises can help you get muscle quick, but you won't have a huge build. Instead, you'll have more definition in your muscles instead of build. Basically: Weights = more build than definition (usually specialized for a specific sport). Ex: American football players, body builders, iron men contestants, "Guidos" Body weight = more definition than build (usually more every day functionality with it). Ex: Roman soldiers (ideal body statues), Marines, Bboys Both options are good, it just depends on what you want your body to be. But looking at your post, you'll want to go the body weight area, milehighclubber.

GETTING BIG IS EASYI know I'm kind of late with the post and I hope I can still help. I have weights at home of course though. Buddy before you buy any books, the website that has helped me magnificently has been: www.gain-weight-muscle-fast.com/Everything that you need to know is on there. Has info on what protein to get, how to lift, everything. If I were you, I'd look at the website with your dad (I'm 18 and I still ask my dad). So that way, they will understand and might buy you a weight set. I started my summer lifting on Friday(5/6/11) and I have already gained 2 pounds of muscle. I can't wait to post my progress pictures. I take my WHEY protein immediately after I'm done working out. I'm going to get creatine when I can too because it helps you last longer when lifting. Gaining weight is wayyyy easier than everyone says. (Mostly because people aren't doing something right so they just give b/s hearsay advice). I'm actually doing it right and I am already seeing results in just 3 DAYS!! Best wishes! -Spe3d

Dude, all you have to do is eat like a fucking animal and lift like a fucking animal.
You should be eating all the time and taking in at the very least your body weight in grams of protein. Protein shakes will help you here.
You need some weights, brah. Doesn't your school have a gym? Workout there after class. You need to eat a lot and lift HEAVY. You won't bulk with body weight exercises alone.
