I'm gonna start to try meditation today. Has anyone actually tried meditation? What improvements have you gotten from it if any?

its badass if you make it a consitent thing.
as far as application you need to make it habitual and eventually you will get to the point where if someone starts bothering you have the ability to just stop giving a fuck. to be nonreactive is really useful.

I've been meditating for about two weeks now (20 min per day with eyes open) It definatly improves your life and your ability to not give a fuck bur like rmo said IT HAS TO BE CONSISTENT!!! I tried meditation before and didn't follow through after 4 days and it did nothing.
If you want to get started I highly suggest tyler's 1hr video on meditation from rsd

I've been doing it two months eyes closed 20 mins just missed 2 weeks, 2 weeks back .. going to start two times a day soon then eventually 3. You deal with emotions much better, you become more unreactive, makes you a bit more present, you sorta separate from the physical you a lot more and observe if I could say .. result of that is the above I think .. You need girls a lot less, cancels out internal AA completely um don't know it clears your head out you won't notice anything much but you'll feel good .. The same as you don't notice all the things that creep up from behind and take you down with chicks such as a noisy and scattered mind, getting sucked deep in external validation, getting dependant all that shit gets cancelled out and you'll have much better expression, eye contact, you won't react as a reflex, won't flip out yeah basically

Is all that chakra shit important?Anyway, I started meditating a week ago and today I had this really weird thing happen to me, like a hallucination. About 15 minutes trough my session, I felt my hands closing, and opening and closing and opening only I opened my eyes and my hands weren't moving. Anyway it felt really nice. I just wanted to know what you thought of it...

Meditation after 3 days so far, seems effective. People always say 'will this matter in a month/year/whatever' meditation is basically the physical embodiment of that thought.

I've been meditating for 2 weeks now and it doesn't seem like it really changed my life. Ok, when I'm finished meditating I feel good and chill but after 5 minutes I'm back to normal.
Is it really worth spending 20-30 minutes a day meditating? Does it just take time to feel the benefits of it? If yes how long?

^ you don't feel the benefits it just happens and maybe you'll notice them and maybe you wont. It is worth it if your doing it for a specific reason and you feel at this point in your life it may have a few benefits and you would like to see where it can fit in, if your doing it for some transformation and looking for an end result it most likely won't click in your head the importance of it, you have to experience more and it will serve a purpose a long the time line if you told me about meditation a few months ago it completely would not serve me any purpose at that time in life and I would not do it at all.
